SUPPORT
Thank you for supporting AtheistCampaign.org. Our new initiative is the first atheist charity book, “The Atheist’s Guide To Christmas” – all royalties from the book will go to the UK HIV charity Terrence Higgins Trust. The book is edited by Ariane and features 42 of the world’s most entertaining atheists, including Richard Dawkins, Derren Brown, Ben Goldacre, Charlie Brooker and David Baddiel. Everyone in the book has contributed for free, and we hope to raise as much for THT as possible.
We’re really pleased that you’re interested in helping promote the book. It is published on October 1 and it would be brilliant if it could break into the Top Ten Bestsellers in its first week of release. Below is a list of ten ways you can help make this happen:
#1: BUY IT FOR YOURSELF AND YOUR FREETHINKING FRIENDS AND FAMILY
The Atheist’s Guide To Christmas is the ideal Christmas present – it’s funny and thoughtful and full of your favourite atheists, and with 42 contributions there’s something for everyone. Amazon are currently selling it at 35% off (just £8.44 for a hardback with free delivery). It’s fairly clean and friendly too, so is suitable for almost anyone, and it’s also full of jokes from page 1 onwards, as well as quotes from great atheists throughout history.
The first week the book goes on sale is essential to its success – if it sells thousands, booksellers will order in more copies and promote it more enthusiastically, further ensuring its chances of doing well, and raising far more for THT. So it would be fantastic if you could pre-order it now for friends, family, colleagues and anyone else you think would like it:

Many thanks – we really appreciate it!
#2: POST ON THE AMAZON DISCUSSION FORUM
Every book on Amazon has the facility for a discussion forum – but most of them aren’t ever used. Thanks to the success of the Atheist Bus Campaign, the discussion forum for The Atheist’s Guide To Christmas has been started by interested users, and can be found here:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/forum/cd/forum.html/ref=cm_cd_pd_nr_fp?ie=UTF8&cdForum=FxAC13KB58Y64I&asin=0007322615
If you could help get this discussion forum going in an enthusiastic, positive way, that would be extremely helpful – it would help promote the book across the site, as active discussion forums are also featured on other books’ pages. It would also let Amazon know that there is interest in the book, and therefore feature it on the site more often.
If you’re not an Amazon member yet, you can sign up for an account here:

#3: JOIN THE FACEBOOK GROUP
The Facebook group is a great way of generating interest and enthusiasm for the book, as it enables online discussions about it. Please join it here:

If you don’t yet have a Facebook account, you can join Facebook here – it’s fast and simple:

#4: POST ON THE FACEBOOK GROUP WALL AND DISCUSSION THREADS
If you have time, it would also be excellent if you would be willing to contribute to the discussion on the wall and discussion threads. The more posts and members there are, generally the more interesting the discussion, making it more likely for people to join the group and find out about the book. If you currently belong to the Atheist Bus Campaign group, it would be a real help if you could also join The Atheist’s Guide To Christmas Facebook group and help get it going – and encourage other members of the ABC group to do the same.
#5: HELP PROMOTE THE FACEBOOK GROUP
It would be great if you could “Share” the Facebook group – this will post it to your profile and mean your friends automatically see it on their News Feeds. To share it, just click the “+” sign on the right hand side of the group, either leave the box blank or write a supportive comment, and post it to your profile.
You can also invite your friends to the group using the “Invite people to join” link on the right hand side of the group. This is useful as some people don’t use Facebook that often, so might be unaware of the group otherwise.
Lastly, you could update your Facebook status and include either the Amazon or Facebook group link in it. Here’s an example status which you can customise:

#8: POST UP A BANNER

#9: ALERT ATHEIST FORUMS/BLOGS/SITES
There are hundreds of atheist forums, sites and blogs online (e.g. RichardDawkins.net/Atheist Nexus, etc). We’re trying to let all of them know about the book before it’s released, but if you visit a site frequently and they haven’t yet featured any information on The Atheist’s Guide To Christmas, it would be excellent if you could let them know about it and post the Amazon link.
#10: EMAIL
If you have any friends who might be interested in helping promote The Atheist’s Guide To Christmas, you can forward this full page to them quickly and easily by clicking here.
The more people who help, the more chance there is that this initiative will be as successful as the Atheist Bus Campaign and help raise hundreds of thousands for Terrence Higgins Trust, providing even more people with HIV testing, medical advice, legal advice and emotional support.
Thank you so much for your time and generosity!
