Atheist, Badges, Christmas Presents, Merchandise, Probably No God, T-shirts
We’re sorry it’s taken so long to bring you these – we’ve been rather overloaded with campaign work, but we’ll be updating the site much more often from now on, so please keep checking back for more news on all things ABC-related. Car stickers and bumper stickers to follow…

They look great, but I’d really like more choice of products. Sorry to be so fussy!

Hi Anna,
We’re looking into producing stickers, mugs and sweatshirts, but want to see how well the t-shirts and badges do first. Many thanks for your enthusiasm!
Best wishes,
Ariane

I’ve bought a t-shirt and two badges. I’ll enjoy wearing them now and again, but I hope they are not used by others to shove their beliefs into peoples’ faces. Although the response to this campaign has generally been wonderful, there has been a small amount of nastiness on both sides, and I would like to see us atheists continue to put across our arguments articulately but softly and with a smile, like the almighty Dawkins… it’s the most persuasive way! That’s why I love the life-affirming message on the buses, and I love the use of the “probably”, even though it’s probably almost certainly. So in terms of t-shirts I suppose I want us to “wear responsibly”!
Ok, that’s my penny’s worth. Back to work, and well done again on a brilliant, well organised campaign.

To echo what someone said in the donation page… it’s too cold for t-shirts! And if I went to the gym, I wouldn’t like people’s views on religion shoved in my face.
Mugs sound nice~(maybe saying something like “Harry and Sherine says ‘Don’t worry and enjoy your life’”
). Oh, and maybe come up with a smart logo…
November 7th, 2008 at 16:12
fantastic, I ordered 10 pin badges! Would be nice if we could have t-shirts for girls too, skinny fit ones instead of sacks!
Any chance of some posters to buy?
November 8th, 2008 at 2:17
Tom: I’m completely with you there. I think being funny and gentle (or at least trying to be!) is exactly right. Thanks a lot for your comment.
Jo: Excellent! I’ll definitely look into posters – and you’ll be pleased to know that skinny fit girls’ t-shirts are available (30″-32″ chest), so they should be a good fit.

How about car bumper stickers?
November 9th, 2008 at 0:00
Ricardo, Orlando: We’re looking into producing both mugs and bumper stickers (and sweatshirts, and window stickers!)
With cars, I quite like the slogan “My other car is an atheist bus”…
November 10th, 2008 at 23:23
I’ve ordered a t shirt, however the design with the massive “No God” is a bit overbaring, I like the subbtlety of the bus message.
But hey, I’ll let you know what people think when I receive it, cheers.
November 13th, 2008 at 1:23
This could really become a very big movement. I agree with the comments about the NO GOD being a little overbaring (sic). I will wait for a rugby/polo-shirt (dark, XL) with a smaller logo on the left nipple. Definitely up for the mugs when available.
Some months ago Five Live radio had some ideas for an atheist logo. One of the best ideas was a simple flame. Christians have a cross because Jesus was crucified on one; so atheists have a flame, because christians used to burn atheists.
Please keep up this amazing work.

How about getting an atheist flower named. Anyone with green fingers? We could wear it like the poppy.
Chelsea Flower Show next year perhaps the Atheist Garden.
November 14th, 2008 at 13:01
Simon: Hope you like the t-shirt – do let us know.
Richard: Many thanks for your comments. I’ll let you know when mugs are available. The flame is a moving idea but it’s also the symbol of Zoroastrian (which is, incidentally, half my family’s religion) so that could be a little confusing.
Mrs Scrubit: That’s a really good idea – I’ll suggest it.
November 14th, 2008 at 15:56
Well, maybe since a flame is already taken as a logo, the atheist logo could be a bus!
November 15th, 2008 at 9:53
Good idea Karen, but I think the TGWU use a bus as one of their logos.
Ariane: Would that be Methodist or Sunni Zoroastrian? As my suggestion to use the Zoroastrian symbol as a logo for atheists was probably blasphemous, I guess my chips are well and truly cooked. On top of that, I have insulted half of the gene-pool of one of my favourite persons..
So I’ll just go and kiss my family goodbye…
November 18th, 2008 at 18:08
Karen: Very funny idea!
Richard: Ah, you really haven’t.
The OUT Campaign use a big red letter ‘A’ as their symbol for atheism (we’ve tried to replicate that with our favicon in the browser bar – only pinker). It’s not as evocative as a flame, but I quite like it.
November 19th, 2008 at 6:33
Once the ‘campaign’ is underway, I’d love a car sticker with the outline of a bus and the words: “PROBABLY NOT!”
What do you think?
November 19th, 2008 at 10:56
How about a symbol of a conical flask? Something which clearly says SCIENCE?
November 20th, 2008 at 13:57
I’ve always liked:
HEAVEN FOR THE WEATHER: HELL FOR THE COMPANY!

My t-shirt arrived today! Yay!
..but it’s too big. I’ve emailed Blue Apple about a return and exhange, is it possible?
Hope so =[
November 21st, 2008 at 15:38
@Bill: Thanks for your suggestion. We’re looking into stickers now, but they’ll probably have the original slogan.
@Michael: Interesting idea – thanks.
@Eileen: Great slogan, and very true!
@Sam: That should definitely be possible – Blue Apple are very amenable with these kinds of things. Any problems, let me know.

heya Ariane,
during a discussion with my father about the athiest tshirts i was struck with this idea; have the slogans on hoodies! you could have the logo almost like the ghostbusters, except instead of a ghost, have a bearded god looking guy with ‘god busters’ written underneath…
or if that breaks the ghostbusters copyright, then a plain white hoodie with the original design.
keep up the good work!

Great!!
November 24th, 2008 at 13:59
I’m returning it and getting a replacement with no problems. Great service, hats off to them.
Thanks =]

I’d just like to draw your attention to this:
“The Atheist’s Guide To Christmas” is the UK’s first atheist charity book, featuring contributions from Richard Dawkins, Derren Brown, Ben Goldacre, Simon Singh, Claire Rayner, David Baddiel, Charlie Brooker and many more. It’s been edited by Ariane Sherine, the creator of the hugely successful Atheist Bus Campaign. It’s out on Oct 1st and all royalties are going to the HIV charity Terrence Higgins Trust. Please pre-order now:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Atheists-Guide-Christmas-Ariane-Sherine/dp/0007322615/
The Atheist’s Guide is a mix of humorous and poignant contributions from over 40 various prominent atheists. It’ll make an ideal Christmas gift for your atheist friends. Your religious friends will love it too, or, even better, it’ll put them in a foul mood for Xmas! So a win-win situation! More info on the Facebook group:
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=128903634833
Your support will not only maintain the profile of atheism in the UK, it will also help raise funds for the very worthy THT charity. Please note that the contributors, and Ms Sherine, have waived payment for their considerable input into the “Guide”.
Thank you, and please pass this message on to everyone you know!!
[My apologies if you already know about the Guide!]

I Corinthians 8:6 “But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.”
“Probably” doesn’t sound sure at all.
You will bow your knees and worship Him one day. And that day is coming sooner than you think.
