They both take the focus away from the real issue. This beautiful blue planet and the life on it was designed by a superior intelligence. This loving creator demands a relationship with his creation. He is not interested in your relion and the motions. He took the initiative, in love, to seek the lost man and bring him back into his kingdom. This mission he accomplished in Jesus Christ, who preached no religion but the kingdom of God and, in love, made himself a scape goat, laid down his life for the salvation of all humanity. (John 3:16) To confirm this as the truth, God raised him from the dead on the third day and showed him to the world as the way for everyman to real life. Religion is man's attempt to make God fit his own agenda. But the truth came down to find man where he was at and rescue him from the catastrophic destruction of himself. This is the grace of God. No religion, neither christianity or islam or hinduism or bhuddisim or else, nor your own self righteousness (humanism) can earn it for you, it is the love of God. But you must turn to him and receive this love in your heart, by faith in Jesus Christ. It is a free gift from him.
